23rd Annual EBLIDA-NAPLE Conference will take place in Riga, Latvia, 8 May, 2015. Conference sessions will be held in the National Library of Latvia (3 Mūkusalas Street).

The new National Library of Latvia building or the ‘Castle of Light’ is one of the most complex objects constructed in independent Latvia and inaugurated on 29 August 2014. It presented a challenge both to the builders as well as the library professionals in attaining the requirements of a model 21st century library. The architect of the new National Library of Latvia building design is Latvian born American architect Gunnar Birkerts.

Conference is organized by the National Library of Latvia, European Bureau of Library Information and Documentation Associations (EBLIDA), National Authorities of Public Library in Europe (NAPLE), The Reading & Writing Foundation, The European Literacy Policy Network (ELINET), Library Association of Latvia, Centre for Culture Information Systems (KISC) and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
